Staff Biographies

Kevin Short: Operations Manager

Kevin is a lifelong resident of Sussex County and the owner/operations manager of Mid South Audio for twenty years. He has produced recordings for RCA/BMG, Smithsonian Folkways, Sierra and Rebel Records.

Short’s talents have contributed to a number of longtime Delmarva celebrations. Kevin has done volunteer work with organizations such as The American Cancer Society and Birthright of Delaware. Serving first as a committee member then later as a committee chair, he has contributed to the nationally recognized Sussex County Return Day Celebration for thirty years. Kevin is also a musician and a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Gino Bailey: Senior Technician

Gino is a native of the Eastern Shore. Graduated in 1987 from Snow Hill High.  He worked at Frontier Town Western Theme Park from 1984 to 1994 as an actor and eventually became the show manger.  He attended Towson University as a music major and played trumpet.  He played in several of the bands at the school most notably Hank Levy’s Big Band.  He transferred to University of Maryland and continued his education in music.  While in school he picked up the bass guitar and started the band Blue Junction.  Blue Junction played throughout the Mid Atlantic region for several years winning awards from Billboard and Musician Magazine.  In 1994, while in the band, Gino recorded his first project at Mid South Audio and was offered a position in the studio as a technician.  Eventually he began to engineer recording sessions as well as perform as a studio musician. He is now MSA’s senior technician in both the studio and live production.

Bill Grayston: Production Specialist

Bill is a Sussex county native who proudly joined the Mid South Audio staff in 2008. He has a career in radio spanning 15 years which includes work as an on-air personality and various aspects of radio production. He has worked with such stations as WJWL, WSEA, WGMD and WECY. Bill is also a talented freelance voice over artist who has contributed his talents to many recordings here at Mid South Audio.

Recording Studio

Mid South Audio recording Studio at 52 Bramhall Street in Georgetown, Delaware 19947 was designed by owner Kevin Short and constructed in 1989. The studio consists of three main rooms: the main studio, the control room and the editing suite.
